  2. Excelent post displaying the mind of Indian diaspora. One thing we are missing , the gamework of a very prominent family at the center who has a cladestine hand in defaming Hindus of this nation.

  3. This time around there is more awareness and shock due to 4 reasons:-
[1] In 1993 the media was not so strong, this time MEDIA is all over.
[2] For the 1st time Gun trotting terrorist have marched in, a la Film Style.
[3] The most important reason --- this time the upper class has also been effected unlike previous occasion where its the poor and the middle class who were effected.
[4] There is a massive recession in global markets, the financial players and media need an issue to divert the public attention from the dismal stock market losses investors / traders have had.
If this time action is not taken then we can expect worst things to happen in the future because the damage terrorist wanted to cause has been done to a large extent. Perhaps we should stop encouraging and entertaining any kind of trade (be it entertainment) from PAKISTAN & BANGLADESH and also stop the TRAIN, AIR & BUS service (of course SEA should also be ruled out!)

  4. First The media has to be blamed .....!

They have blown each every point in this terror attack as they wish .... (to increase their Television Rating Point (TRP))

The true Journalism is dead with these news channels .....

    SPIN
they go with the camera at the spot and show things live and jus say at point what ever they wish .... and intrepret, re-interpret in versions to give the people worst things ....

When such terror attacks happens (it should not ..) these news channels should stop broadcasting .. news should be limited and to the point. after all gets over it should be interpreted and mistakes should be found and broadcasted......

  5. Blaming politicians is same as blaming ourselves ....
    because we only selected them.....!
If they make mistake donot select them...
dont allow them to contest only ...
Home ministers has resigned he should not come in politics and ministry further because They are the failures... same for deshmukh .. and DCM maharastra..->ppl leave politics allow others , dont rule till you die and make others die.

    SPIN

  8. Do you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

"Please forward this mail to as many as possible, so that we, the people of India , can really use this power to save our nation". Use your voting right for a better INDIA.

  9. Our leadership is weak. After Indira Gandhi we have not seen able administrators who can save the pride of nation and do the development activity. We are having opportunistic leaders leading the country. The are not ready to sacrifice their personal well beings and greed of "Satta"(ruling stat). Our leaders are very old and slow.It seems that PM ,President and other old fools are in business for few handshakes, few signatures and saying few words from written script.I am totally disagree that these 70+ shd be given any top post.If they are really important then they should be in advisory board. This is time where India should have a young blood leading from the front. This is not an national movement against Britishers for freedom. These are terrorist attacks. If we are not able to counter attack then we will be attacked several times.Because non actions against terrorist boost their confidence to attack again and again.Look what Israel has done .After the attack on Israeli team in Munich Olympic in 1972 which killed 11 players, they have persuaded the militants until there were not finished.Israeli government took several hard steps there onwards to ensure that the terrorist group is completely destroyed.
And look what Indian Leadership is doing since last 15 years. Our leaders will certainly sell our motherland some days . These politicians have no moral values. The are old ,weak and stupid.Flush them out of this system . We should clean them ASAP otherwise our lives are not safe.

  10. Our political leaders can sell their wives and daughters to remain in power. What can they do for nation?

  11. Politicians in India give greed, traitors and cowardice a NEW MEANING. They are in a category all by themselves, unseen anywhere else in any country in the world.

THANK GOD for the I.T. leaders in India, thanks to who, have moved our country forward over the past ~10 years and made our local talent famous, world-wide. Else, all of us Indians would've continued to be viewed with "third world" disdain.

Day-to-day life for an ordinary Indian is still so tedious. So hard. WHY?

Why are are BASIC necessities in India so hard?

Why are our roads so bad?

Why is our public transportation so old, crammed and bad?

Why can't our cops at least look smarter and pretend to know what they are doing?

Why can't there be more schools and colleges, so that our brilliant kids get into a field of education (Engineering, Medical, etc) of their choice? Why is this only for the ultra-brilliant or the super-rich? What are these kids, who can't get into a college (despite having commendable scores such as 85+%) supposed to do?

Why is virtually every level of public service corrupt - it's almost accepted that to get anything done, one has to PAY MONEY????

    WHY INDIA, WHY???

    ReplyDelete
  12. It is time for India as a nation to wake up from inaction. We constantly watch bollywood movies shot in the rich world and delude ourselves. Why is it that movies are not Shot in India? Corruption, unclean habits / surroundings.. why don't we demand cleanliness from ourselves and our neighbours when we obviously crave that from the # of people seeing the movies?

Why are we always willing to allow the sons / daughters of politicians / Film stars become Politicians / film stars? Didn't we end the whole caste system where ancestors define what we become? Now don't say that no one is preventing others from becoming actors / politicians... there are only so many spots for politicians and actors and if these are held on tightly by the sons / daughters, then there is no place for a new guy to break in.

It is time to vote with our money and our feet folks. Lets not see movies that are by sons / daughters of actors. Lets not vote to politicians who are politicians of dynasty. Unless you and I make these choices, nothing will change.

CHANGE STARTS WITH US, you and ME.

Lets not forget this humiliating attack on India. Lets not forget this so that we never let this recur ever again.

Lets remind ourselves of this so that we don't become complacent and slip back to our old ways of apathy and indifference.

We can make a difference. A determined mind CAN and WILL make a difference.

    LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN

  13. Nice comment written by fellow blogger

My family has had many people who’ve served in one of the three Armed Forces. Mom’s father (my Nana) was in the Army, both of my Naani’s brothers were in the Navy, and my Dad’s an ex-fighter pilot from the IAF. This is an artcle that Papa wrote while we were all in the midst of watching the news. Do read.

    Half Man Half Boy

The average age of the army man is 23 years.

He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer in the capital of his country, but old enough to die for his country.

He’s a recent school or college graduate; he was probably an average student from one of the Kendriya Vidyalayas, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a rickety bicycle, and had a girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip -hop or bhangra or gazals and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 5 or 7 kilos lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting the insurgents or standing guard on the icy Himalayas from before dawn to well after dusk or he is at Mumbai engaging the terrorists. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop, or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. His pride and self-respect, he does not lack.

    He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of combat dress: he washes one and wears the other.

He keeps his water bottle full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own wounds.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life - or take it, because he’s been trained for both.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed to do so.

He feels every note of the Jana Gana Mana vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ’square-away’ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hands from their pockets, or even stop talking. In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful. Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom.

Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is your nation’s Fighting Man that has kept this country free and defended your right to Freedom. He has experienced deprivation and adversity, and has seen his buddies falling to bullets and maimed and blown.

And he smiles at the irony of the IAS babu and politician reducing his status year after year and the unkindest cut of all, even reducing his salary and asking why he should get 24 eggs a week free! And when he silently whispers in protest, the same politician and babu aghast, suggest he’s mutinying!

Wake up citizens of India! Let’s begin discriminating between the saviours of India and the traitors!

  14. Dear Flt. Lt. Tyagi:

Thank you so much for sharing your father's thoughts. Very thought provoking and makes me have a renewed respect for those who serve in the armed forces.
